The short version. Orientim runs entirely on your own computer. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. Your API keys, agents, limits and usage logs never leave your machine. The only time the app touches the network on its own is a single license check when you first activate it — and never again after that.
This policy applies to the Orientim desktop application (Windows and macOS) and to this website. It explains, in plain terms, what data exists, where it lives, and who — if anyone — can see it. Because of how the product is built, the honest answer for most of it is: only you.
All application data is written to a single config.json file stored next to
the program on your own device. That includes:
We never receive, sync, or back up any of this. There is no cloud database. If you delete the file, the data is gone.
Your real provider key is stored only in that local file, and it is injected only
onto the outbound request to the official provider you chose (for example OpenAI or
Anthropic). It is masked (sk-v…1234) everywhere it is displayed and is never
transmitted to us or to any third party other than that official API.
Orientim is a local proxy. Requests and responses pass through it to meter cost, but the app records only metadata — model, tokens, cost, status and time. The content of your prompts and the model's replies is not stored and never reaches us. Your use of a provider's models is governed by that provider's own privacy terms.
When you first activate, the app checks your license key once through our license service, stores the result, and then works locally — it does not re-check or phone home afterward. That single check sends only your key and a device name so a purchase can be tied to your install. The only other network traffic Orientim makes is forwarding your own requests to the AI provider you chose. You can confirm this with a network monitor such as Wireshark.
We sell through Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you buy, Creem collects and processes your payment details and email — we never see or store your card information. We receive only what we need to deliver your download and license and to provide support (your email and order/license details). Their handling of your data is described in the Creem Privacy Policy.
This site is a static page served by our hosting provider. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. Our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability, as is normal for any website.
Because the app holds your data locally, you are in full control of it — edit or delete
config.json at any time. For anything held by us in connection with your
purchase (such as your order email), you may ask us to access or delete it by writing to
the contact address below.
Orientim is a developer tool and is not directed to anyone under 16.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
