Terms & Refunds

Last updated: 18 July 2026

The short version. Orientim is free until it has metered $20 of your own API spend; after that a one-time license lets you carry on, on your own machines, for personal or commercial work. It's sold "as is." It limits spend on traffic that passes through it, and only on that traffic. The trial is the evaluation; if it does not do what this page describes, we refund it.

1. Agreement

By downloading, activating, or using Orientim (the "Software"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software and request a refund as described below.

2. The free trial

Orientim runs with every feature enabled, without a license, until it has metered $20 of your own API spend — that is $20 of traffic you send to your own provider, not a payment to us. The trial is measured in that metered spend rather than in days, so it does not expire while the Software sits unused, and no payment details are required to begin.

When the meter reaches $20 the Software stops passing requests until a license key is entered. It does not continue operating with the spend limits disabled. Your agents, keys, limits and history are kept, and resume unchanged once a license is activated.

3. Your license

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on machines you own or control, for both personal and commercial projects. A single purchase covers the Windows build you download, and it is yours to keep and use for as long as you like.

Three activations at a time. One key activates on up to three machines simultaneously. A fourth simultaneous activation is refused, with a message stating the limit.

The limit is on simultaneous activations, not on how many machines you may ever use. Rebuilding a PC, replacing a laptop or moving to a new machine costs you nothing: open Settings in the dashboard, choose Deactivate this device, and the slot is released immediately for the next one. If you lose access to a machine before deactivating it — a dead drive, a stolen laptop — email support@orientim.com and the slot will be released.

4. What you may not do

5. How the Software works — and its limits

Orientim runs locally and enforces a spend limit by blocking requests that pass through its proxy once a limit is reached. Cost is metered from provider usage data — exact where the provider reports it, and otherwise estimated from token counts and model rates that you can adjust.

Important — what it cannot do. The Software can only limit spend on requests routed through it. It cannot control, and is not responsible for, charges that occur outside its proxy — including tools that route through their own cloud (for example Cursor), provider-side minimums or subscriptions, usage from other applications, or your provider account itself. Cost figures are provided on a best-effort basis and may differ from a provider's final bill. You remain solely responsible for your provider accounts, keys and spending.

6. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will prevent every unwanted charge.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including provider API charges, lost profits, or lost data.

8. Refunds

The trial is the evaluation. Orientim runs with every feature enabled until it has metered $20 of your own API spend. Nobody pays before using the product on their own machine, with their own agents, against their own provider bill.

If the Software does not do what this page describes, we refund it. Write to support@orientim.com with what you were running — the tool, the provider, and what you saw happen instead. A short screen recording or the log file makes it faster; neither is required. Report the fault and we will correct it where we can. The refund does not depend on that.

Your order is sold and processed by Creem as Merchant of Record. Creem's buyer terms apply to the transaction alongside these, including the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for consumers in the EU and UK. Nothing here reduces a right you hold by law.

9. Support & updates

There are no updates. You are purchasing this version of the Software exactly as it is today. There is no roadmap, no release schedule, and no version 2 planned. If a serious fault comes to light we will try to put it right, but nothing in these terms obliges us to. Do not buy in the expectation of features arriving later.

What that means for model prices. The Software carries a table of provider token prices, and providers change those. A model the table has never heard of is billed at a deliberately high fallback rate and flagged in the dashboard, so you can always see when a guess was used rather than a known price. You can correct any price yourself, and it sticks, on the Pricing page. That is the intended mechanism rather than a workaround — it is why a frozen table does not stop the Software from being accurate about your money.

What support covers, and what it cannot cover because we cannot see it, is set out in What Orientim does and doesn't do.

10. Termination

This license ends if you materially breach these terms — for example by redistributing the Software or your key. On termination you must stop using and delete the Software. Nothing here affects a refund you are already owed under section 8.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of North Macedonia. Contact: support@orientim.com.
